Measuring Curtain Width – How to Get the Right Fullness

Measuring curtain width correctly is essential for achieving the right look in your space. The width doesn’t just determine coverage – it directly affects how the curtain drapes and how full it appears.

To create a balanced and well-proportioned result, curtains should always be wider than the window. A common guideline is to choose a width that is 1.5 to 2 times the window width. This ensures a natural drape and soft, even folds.

When fully drawn, the curtain should cover the entire window without feeling tight. When open, it should still maintain a full and structured look at the sides. The right width ensures the curtain looks good in every position.

By choosing the right width, you don’t just get a better fit – you create a more refined and cohesive space.
