Guide for wall mounted french rails
How to install
1. Identify elements & Prepare tools
First, identify if there are any radiators, window sills, or other elements protruding from the wall.
2. Mark your holes
Starting from the left or right, mark the first hole:
– 6cm from the side wall
– Use a 3cm, 5cm, 10cm or 15cm wall depending on the deepest protuding point (e.g. radiator or sill).
3. Right spacing
For stability, we recommend a spacing of 65–70cm between each bracket/hole.
For double curtain rails, please use a wall bracket adopted for double layers.
4. Use a suitable drill
Use a suitable drill or hammer drill, and drill holes at each marked point.
5. Insert plugs
Insert an appropriate wall plug into every drilled hole, based on the material of the wall.
6. Secure the wall brackets
Use a screwdriver or drill to secure the wall brackets with suitable screws. The rail should be attached directly to the wall.
7. Join multiple rails together
If using multiple rails, join them together using the provided connectors.
8. Click in the rail
Click the rail into the mounted brackets securely.
9. Hang the curtains
Your custom-made french curtain from GARDINEX comes pre-installed with hooks. No need to add or adjust them before hanging. The curtain is designed to be hung on a loose glider system.
If you are using a GARDINEX french-compatible rail, the loose gliders are already pre-installed in the correct configuration – no extra setup needed.
The number of gliders must match the number of hooks on the curtain. If you're using a rail with not purchased from us, ensure that:
- The rail and gliders are compatible with two-finger hooks.
- It contains loose gliders. The gliders match the number and of hooks on your curtain.
10. Place curtain weights
Place curtain weights in the side pockets of each curtains for a heavier fall.
